CRAFT BEER IS DAM COOL

And not just in temperature. Brewpubs and breweries are popping up all over the country, providing beer drinkers an adventure in tasting and brewing a lot of conversation. Here at the Dam we consistently serve our signature beers from the sunniest pilsner to the darkest stout – yet we also like to experiment.

DAM GOOD FUN

Our brewers attend many craft beer festivals and the Great American Beer Festival. While showing off our beers, they are also exploring what others are doing.

The brewers are searching for unique ingredients, new processes or serving methods, aging techniques even wild-haired ideas like spruce tips which we put into our Winter Holiday beer.

We like to use Colorado ingredients. We brew our Wet Hop IPA every fall with fresh hops from Paonia.

The hops are harvested and then added to the beer boil within 24 hours. It tastes like Indian summer – something alive at its peak and ready for harvest. The hop flavor just bursts on your tongue.

We use Breckenridge Distillery’s used whiskey barrels to age a variety of flavors. Those beers take on a richness not found any other way.

Our Brewmaster creates farmhouse ales with special strains of Belgian yeast and imports unusual malts to add roasted chocolate flavors or melt-in-the-mouth smoothness to big, bold beers.

We use regionally grown peaches from Palisade, Colorado in our wildly popular Peach Hefeweizen. And 50 pounds of Hatch Chilies went into the Dam Chili Beer this year. Each season yields a different level of spiciness in the chilies and that translates into a unique beer.

So we promise you. If you stop in, there will always be our signature craft beers on tap. But we will also have something Dam fun for you to try – even if YOU risk just a taster. Who knows you might want to take home a bottle or growler…
